When Xbox initially announced the release date for the Xbox Series X|S consoles, one thing we noticed was how few games were confirmed for launch day. The launch of a new console is one of the most important days in a console cycle, so we were interested to see how that list expanded as we got closer to launch. Now we’ve had confirmation from Xbox that 30 Xbox Series X|S optimised games will be available on launch day.
A good number of the 30 Xbox Series X|S optimised games available at launch will be previously released titles that have been updated to take advantage of the new console’s power. This covers games like Borderlands 3, NBA 2K21and Maneater. There’s also some games releasing for the first time, such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, The Falconeer and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The one thing missing is big name next-generation exclusives, which this launch is nearly completely lacking in.
