Borderlands 3 Next-Gen Upgrade Releases On PS5 / Series X|S Launch

October 14, 2020

It was only last month that it was confirmed that Borderlands 3 would receive a next-gen upgrade bringing it along with us on the journey to the PS5 and Xbox Seires X|S. Now, we’ve got confirmation that this upgrade will come day and date on the launch of the new consoles, giving you one more thing to play on launch day.

As previously confirmed, Borderlands 3 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will upgrade the game to 4K at 60fps, theoretically ironing out any remaining technical issues we saw when we reviewed the original Xbox One release of the game. It will also bring four-player split screen co-op, making it easier than ever to get a group of friends together playing in the same room (once that sort of thing is allowed again, of course). Throw in some graphical enhancements and you’ve got what promises to be the best version of the game yet.

Randy Pitchford had the following to say about the upcoming release:

Borderlands is a ground-breaking, record-setting, critically acclaimed franchise where millions upon millions of gamers have experienced one-of-a-kind gameplay, mayhem, and fun across multiple generations of gaming technology. With Borderlands 3 continuing to grow and launching this November on next-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles, there has never been a better time to jump in and join the fun.”

Borderlands 3 new features will be available as a free upgrade for owners of the game who buy a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S in the same console family or as a purchase for new owners on November 10th for Xbox Series X|S and November 12th for PS5. For more information, check out the official website.
