Halo: The Master Chief Collection Is Being Optimised For Xbox Series X|S

October 21, 2020

We’re now less than three weeks away from the launch of the Xbox Series X|S, which feels kind of wild to say. After a months long wait for a release date and any sort of details, we’re  finally reaching  the finish line of the current console generation. With that comes all sort of news of next generation games and consoles, like the confirmation of the Xbox Series X|S launch games. What about games after launch? Well, Xbox have just confirmed that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be receiving an Xbox Series X|S optimisation patch one week after the consoles launches.

What will that patch entail? Much like Gears 5, Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s Xbox Seriws X|S optimisation will introduce 120fps to the game. That makes this easily the highest frame rate a console Halo game has hit. There’s also split screen enhancements, while the Xbox Series X will also support up to 4K. There’s also talk that there will be an FOV slider, however we haven’t seen confirmation of that as yet.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available now on PC and Xbox One, and will be available for purchase or via Game Pass on Xbox Series X|S on November 17th, one week after the consoles launch.
