Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair gets Tonics trailer, final release date revealed

As we reported last month, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair was slated to be released in October this year.  Today, developer Playtonic Games has confirmed the title will be arriving on 8th October on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC.

A new trailer has also been released announcing that Tonics will return. The trailer showcases Tonics affecting the appearance of the lizard and bat duo, as well as applying screen filters. Some Tonics will also affect gameplay, such as magnetising Yooka and Laylee so that nearby quills are automatically collected.

Announced at E3 2019Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is a sequel to 2017’s Yooka-Laylee. The game is a 2.5D platformer, though its main hub world will be a 3D sandbox environment.
