Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair coming this October

August 16, 2019

Playtonic Games has announced on Twitter via a short video that Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will be released in October this year. A specific day has not been confirmed, though this does confirm previous comments from Playtonic Games saying the game was almost complete.

Announced at E3 2019, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is a sequel to 2017’s Yooka-Laylee. The game is primarily a 2.5D platformer, though the main hub world will be a 3D sandbox environment. Capital B returns as the game’s main baddie, this time enslaving the toughest bees in the Royal Stingdom to create the Royal Beettalion Guard which our favourite lizard and bat duo must rescue. Players will be able to alter level environments by activating state changes which can, for example, submerge a level in water allowing for theYooka and Laylee to swim and access new areas.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is expected to be released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. For more information on the original Yooka-Laylee, check out the Rocket Chainsaw review by clicking here.
