Yooka-Laylee finally coming to Switch on December 14

November 29, 2017

Playtonic Games has announced that Yooka-Laylee will finally be making its way to the Nintendo Switch on December 14.

Yooka-Laylee was released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC earlier this year. A Wii U version was originally planned as well but was shelved in favour of Nintendo’s shiny new system. Development of the Switch version has had a number of technical setbacks which Playtonic worked closely with both Nintendo and Unity to resolve. The result is what Playtonic have said is an optimised version for the Switch that they believe Nintendo fans will be proud of.

Aside from all post-launch updates other versions have received (including an improved camera system and general bug fixes), the Switch version will also include single-JoyCon support for all eight multiplayer mini-games, a custom achievement system and, naturally, the ability to take the game on the go in Portable mode.

At this stage Yooka-Laylee will be released digitally only via the Nintendo Switch’s e-Shop, and can be pre-ordered/pre-downloaded from December 7. For more information on Yooka-Laylee, you can check out the Rocket Chainsaw review by clicking here.
