E3 2018: The Crew 2 Open Beta Sign-up & More Revealed

June 12, 2018

At the E3 2018 Ubisoft Press Conference this morning, Ubisoft and developer Ivory Tower announced The Crew 2 open beta ahead of its launch at the end of the month, as well as some other titbits for the highly anticipated open-world racing game.

The new E3 2018 trailer shows off some of the vehicles in The Crew 2, as well as how different vehicles may cross over as you explore The United States of America. The map this time around takes around 45 minutes to fly in a plane from east coast to west, and includes larger cities and far more expansive wilderness environments than the original.

The Crew 2 Open Beta will run from June 21 to June 24 on all platforms, and you can pre-load the beta by following this link. Rocket Chainsaw expects it to be the same content as the closed beta which ran for a few days last week, as Ivory Tower fine tunes a few more features ahead of the game’s launch.

Ubisoft recently revealed that you do not need to buy the Season Pass for The Crew 2, as all new content will only be timed exclusives for season pass owners, with everyone else being able to enjoy the content a few days after its initial release.

Rocket Chainsaw went hands-on with The Crew 2 beta last weekend, finding issues with draw distances and stating, “it will be great to see how The Crew 2 performs on the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro at launch, and whether Ubisoft can fix some of the overbearing issues that are already probably affecting early reviews and their respected scores.

The Crew 2 will launch on June 29, 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms. For more information, head to the official website here.
