Ubisoft and Ivory Tower have today announced some of the content that players will get if they purchase The Crew 2 season pass, and also revealed why you don’t need to buy it.

The Crew 2 season pass will give you two new vehicles every month, as well as a new discipline and game feature every 3 months, but here’s the hitch: It’s all timed exclusives. That’s right, if you buy the season pass you’ll get a whole heap of free content days before it’s put in the game for everybody to buy with in-game cash. Ubisoft says they want all of their fans to be able to play The Crew 2 together, and no content to be locked behind paywalls.

The first new discipline and game feature launching in September is called Gator Rush and will add hover-crafts to The Crew 2 that can traverse both land and water.

Rocket Chainsaw went hands-on with The Crew 2 beta last weekend, finding issues with draw distances and stating, “it will be great to see how The Crew 2 performs on the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro at launch, and whether Ubisoft can fix some of the overbearing issues that are already probably affecting early reviews and their respected scores.”

In The Crew 2, take on the American motorsports scene as you explore and dominate the land, air, and sea across the entire USA. With a wide variety of cars, bikes, boats, and planes, compete in a wide range of driving disciplines.

Don’t forget, there’s still time to unlock extra vehicles in The Crew 2 by completing challenges in the original The Crew game. If you played the original game you may have already unlocked a few cars, you can read more about how to unlock them here.

The Crew 2 season pass will be included in both the Gold Edition, as well as the Motor Edition which can still be pre-ordered from participating retailers or the official Ubisoft Store. It will also be available to purchase separately.
