Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ Ultimate Edition Is The Only Way To Get Spider-Man Remastered

September 24, 2020

Spider-Man Release Date

When it was initially announced that Marvell’s Spider-Man was receiving a newly remastered version for the PlayStation 5 during last week’s PS5 Showcase details were hard to come by. We knew that it was included as part of the Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – Ultimate Edition, but didn’t have confirmation on if there was any other way to buy the game. Now, Sony have confirmed to Kotaku that there isn’t any other way.

Thats’a right, if your after Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered you’ll need to get your hands on the ultimate edition of Miles Morales. There won’t be any free upgrades here for owners of Spider-Man on PS4. Instead, you’ll either need to buy the ultimate edition of Mile’s Morales or purchase the standard edition and pay for the extra cost for an upgrade to the Ultimate Edition on PSN, as confirmed by an Insomniac developer on Resetera. It was also confirmed that your save from the PS4 version of Spider-Man won’t be compatible with this new remastered version, meaning you’ll need to start the game again if you want to check out the improvement that have been made.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales launches on November 12 for PS5 alongside the PS5, with a PS4 version of the game coming at an unconfirmed date (likely also November 12). For more information on the PS5 launch, check out our handy article here that has all the details you need to know.
