I think there was no doubt that some people were shocked when Gran Turismo 7 was announced for the PlayStation 5 last month (although I had personally predicted it). Now known for insanely long development times, Polyphony Digital weren’t expected to have a new game for some time after the release of 2017’s Gran Turismo Sport. That might be a thing of the past however, when an image from a shop now doing the rounds in the internet purporting that the game will release in December.

We found a copy of the image courtesy of Resetera user Lant_War. The image shows a placeholder product for Gran Turismo 7 on the shelf with a message in French that translates to ‘released in December’. Sounds pretty clear right? It also makes sense, as given we’re only a few months away from the PS5 release stores would surely be starting to get notified of the release details of the console and it’s accompanying games. This is pretty standard practice after all.

Still, there’s always the chance that this is totally incorrect. Somebody could have incorrectly added this banner to the item on the shelf, but it definitely looks close to something we’d expect from an official placeholder product.
