Far Cry 6 Leaked On PlayStation Store – Will Support Free Next-Gen Upgrade

July 10, 2020

We speculated earlier this week that Far Cry 6 was likely to be announced at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward, and it looks like our prediction was 100% on the money, as the game has just been leaked on the PlayStation Store.

Far Cry 6 is set in Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. Similar to the setting of Far Cry 4 before it, the game focuses in on a dictator. This time however, it’s a dictator name Anton Castillo who is intent on restoring his nation to its former glory. Through any means necessary.

It sounds like exactly the sort of story we’d expect from a Far Cry game, and it also looks like the game will be set in South America like we had believed. Throughout the story you’ll play as Dani Rojas, a local guerilla fighter who is trying to liberate the name.

While not many other details are known about the game, and we obviously have no footage of it as yet, we do know that the game will support a free upgrade from the PlayStation 4 to the PlayStation 5, so if you buy the former you’ll get the latter automatically. The game also sports a release date of 18/02/2021 according to the image below (which we found courtesy of Resetera).

Stay tuned next week as we bring you all the reveals out of Ubisoft Forward.
