Far Cry 6 Officially Revealed At Ubisoft Forward With CG Trailer

July 13, 2020

It feels like we’ve known about Far Cry 6 for a while now, but I’m not entirely sure why. Could there have been the standard issue that seems to plague Ubisoft games, with leaks coming out right before an announcement of the game, much like what happened to Watch Dogs: Legion last year? That’s right, that’s exactly what happened, with first a PSN Store leak confirming the existence of the game, followed by an official teaser tweet from Ubisoft and then an entire CG trailer leaking later in the weekend. It definitely wasn’t the most ilustrious of ways for the game to be confirmed, but at Ubisoft Forward Far Cry 6 was officially revealed.

As the leaks pointed to, Far Cry 6 has you taking control of Dani, a native and guerilla fighter in tropical paradise Yala. Yala is ruled by dictator Anton Castileroux, who plans for his son Diego to follow in his footsteps and restore the former glory of the country. Think Far Cry 4, with the oppression and violence triggering a revolution in the country.

The CG trailer of Far Cry 6 trailer revealed Anton and Diego, as they wander the streets. There are clear signs of struggle and turmoil, as we witness Anton handing Diego a grenade, ready to loose it at any moment. We get a glimpse of a character that we can only assume is the protagonist Dani before it ends. There wasn’t a whole lot shown, but we can only assume we’ll get further looks at the game in the near future.

It’s expected that Far Cry 6 will release on February 18th, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions available in the future (pointing to the fact that neither have an official release date) with a free upgrade program for owners of the current generation versions.
