Far Cry 6 Blasts Onto The Scene In October

Far Cry 6 Female Dani

After being leaked and then revealed last year, word has been quiet on Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6. Within roughly the space of a week, we had the game’s existence and box art leaked and confirmed, and then nothing on the game for ages. That came thanks to COVID-19, with basically delaying their entire slate of games that were due to release in the first half of 2021. Now the game has resurfaced again thanks to a gameplay showcase that ran overnight.

The centre point of the Far Cry 6 gameplay showcase was, in fact, the near 5 minute gameplay trailer that was released. Alongside giving us some information on protagonist Dani Rojas’s motivation, the trailer served to give us a good look at a whole bunch of crazy weapons we can expect to see in the game. They ranged from standard weapons to motorcycle engines retrofitted into gatling guns and even a CD launcher (think the sawblade launched of previous games) that constantly played the Macarena during the trailer. There were plenty of explosions, heaps of espionage and new third person voiced cutscenes that look like they’ll bring a bit more story and presence to the game’s protagonist. Couple those with some environments that looked fantastic and an alligator/crocodile companion and Fat Cry 6 looks to be shaping up nicely.

Far Cry 6 releases for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on October 7th. For more information, check the official website.
