Dead Space Remake Coming 27 January, New Trailer

October 5, 2022

The long-awaited Dead Space remake has finally been shown off by Motive, EA’s in-house studio behind Star Wars Squadrons. The remake is currently scheduled to arrive on January 27, 2023 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and has completely rebuilt the PS3/360-era horror game around EA’s Frostbite engine.

EA also promise ‘newly added narrative elements’, potentially offering something extra to explore for those already familiar with the original game, alongside a host of other new features. The ‘Intensity Director’ sounds the most interesting, dynamically adjusting the monsters and atmospheric effects in protagonist Isaac’s path, and his own emotional and mental state is visually reflected. The new ‘Peeling System’ also means you can shear flesh, tendons and bones off Necromorphs in a layered, gory fashion. Isaac himself will also be more vocal, with new dialogue added voiced by original VA from the sequels, Gunner Wright. Motive are also shooting for a ‘single shot’ experience, with the entire game from start to finish taking place without a single load screen or cut.
