Shin Megami Tensei IV announced

Shin Megami Tensei 4

It’s been a long time coming, Andriasang has confirmed, via Famitsu magazine, that Shin Megami Tensei IV is coming to the Nintendo 3DS. You can see a picture of the two page advert below.

Arguably the strongest intellectual property owned by Atlus, the Shin Megami Tensei franchise has seen numerous spin-offs and side stories over the last few years. Devil Summoner is bound to ring some bells, meanwhile the Persona line of games is stronger than ever. But in terms of mainline Shin Megami Tensei games, all Atlus has delivered is Strange Journey for the Nintendo DS. Released in Japan back in 2009, there was some speculation that Strange Journey was indeed Shin Megami Tensei IV, but statements made by Atlus representatives assured otherwise. Prior to Strange Journey was Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, the formal, third entry in the series, and that was released all the way back in 2003.

Shin Megami Tensei fans have been awfully patient, and now the wait is paying off.

Really? 3DS? Why not a real console? :(

Pretty cool as the 3DS needs more good games. I guess it’s a pretty sure thing that this will get localised given the popularity of the series outside Japan. It better get a PAL release though!
