Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster Announced

July 21, 2020

We went into last night’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase expecting only already announced games. It was a reasonable expectation, given Nintendo themselves stated that’s what the show would contain. What we hadn’t expected, was for them to announce a new remaster of an old fan-favourite game in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster.

This new remaster to the old and much loved PlayStation 2 game was revealed with a shot trailer showing off new updated graphics in a 16:9 resolution ratio, compared to the 4:3 resolution ratio of the old game. Beyond that, not much else is known about the specifics of the remaster, but hopefully we get confirmation of some more details soon.

For those that haven’t played the original and therefore don’t know what to expect with Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster, the game follows a half-demon protagonist as the world undergoes an apocalyptic event called the Conception. You’ll need to recruit demons to your side in your battle against evil, as you seek to stop the evil machinations happening in Tokyo. Basically, it’s very much your typical Shin Megami Tensei game.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster will release some time in 2021 for both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. For more information, check out the official website.
