Sony to introduce ‘Crossbuy’ scheme

August 15, 2012

Sony is set to introduce Crossbuy, an initiative that looks set to put the cross-platform potential of the PlayStation Vita to better use. As reported by Eurogamer, what this means is if you buy a Crossbuy title on PlayStation 3, you’ll get the same game for free on Vita. Presumably this works the other way around as well.

There haven’t been many games announced for both platforms as of yet, but the games set to use this initiative so far are PlayStation All-Stars, Sly Cooper and Ratchet & Clank QForce.

Sony has promised to continue to invest “heavily” in this area and it’ll be interesting to see how it unfolds in the future. Will this help sell more Vitas? Only time will tell.
