Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Coming in Friday State of Play

April 27, 2021

Since their withdrawal from E3, PlayStation have gone all in on digital presentations. Dubbed ‘State of Play’, the shows tend to be smaller in scale than a Nintendo Direct, but generally happen more frequently. With Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart releasing in under two months, we expected a new State of Play would come soon, and now one has been announced for this Friday morning.

Announced on Twitter in a tweet that also included a brand new gameplay trailer for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, this State of Play Will largely focus on an extended gameplay demo of the game. Given the new gameplay trailer included the announcement of the new female Lombax’s name (Rivet), we’re expecting that the extended gameplay demo may show off the game when you’re playing as her.

There will also be updates on two indie games, with no indication on what games these would be. We wouldn’t be surprised if these are games that were announced during last year’s PS5 Games Showcase, so things like Solar Ash, Little Devil Inside and Stray. It won’t be long until we know for sure either way.

This Friday’s State of Play will happen at 7AM AEST, so at a relatively convenient time for us, and can be viewed on YouTube here on the day.
