New Tales from the Borderlands announced at Gamescom

August 24, 2022

As part of the opening for Gamescom this morning, a new Borderlands game was announced – a new instalment in the Tales from the Borderlands series, formerly developed by Telltale Games, called New Tales from the Borderlands.

The new game, which is developed by a Gearbox team led by Gearbox Quebec, and partnering with ‘key alumni’ from the original Telltale Games narrative team, continues the ‘Cinematic Adventure’ playstyle featured in the first game, which focused on player choices affecting the course of the narrative.

New Tales from the Borderlands is the story of three losers, the altruistic scientist Anu, her streetwise brother Octavio and the fierce Fran. The series will be told in five parts, with a host of ‘returning and fresh faces’.

As a pre-order incentive, all players who pre-order the game will receive the Adventure Capital pack, featuring cosmetics for Anu, Octavio and Frank, 10,000 in-game currency and an in-game FL4K Vaultlander collectible. A standard edition will be available as a digital only release, while a deluxe edition will be released both digitally and physically, and include a copy of the original Tales from the Borderlands.

New Tales from the Borderlands will be released on 21 October, 2022.
