New Pokémon Snap Releasing On April 30

January 15, 2021

It’s been years since the original Pokémon Snap released for the Nintendo 64. After years and years of fans consistently hoping and dreaming of a sequel one was finally announced last year, and now New Pokémon Snap is going to be out in a matter of months.

Released with little fanfare via Twitter, which seems to be Nintendo’s permanent style moving forwards, the new trailer for New Pokémon Snap reveals more some of the environments and Pokémon we can expect to snap in the game. We got views of a dessert environment, a jungle, a beach and what looks to be a lake. These environments are all part of the Lental region, a new set of islands for is to explore.

The trailer also confirmed there will be over 200 Pokémon for you to snap pictures of in New Pokémon Snap, which is a massive on the original game. We saw Torchic, Heracross, Pinsir, Meganium, Pichu and plenty more in the short trailer. We’re hoping for a good range from across the generations, so here’s hoping for some diversity.

The final reveal of the trailer was the confirmation that New Pokémon Snap would release exclusive for Nintendo Switch on April 30th, along with confirmation that preorders would open within the next day.
