Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Get Release Dates

With the 25th anniversary of Pokémon well and truly underway, we knew that we were going to get a whole bunch of releases over the next year or so. We’ve already had special TCG releases (and will continue to have them for a while yet) and New Pokémon Snap, with the promise of more yet to come. Some of that ‘more yet to come’ are Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, all of which now have release dates.

The first of these to release are Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, remakes of the fourth generation games which released on the Nintendo DS. With a chibi art-style that is very similar to the original releases, just in 3D, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl continue the remakes the series has seen since Fire Red and Leaf Green on the Gameboy Advance. These games, as well as dual pack, will release on November 19th, right on time for the Holidays.

The second is Pokémon Legends: Arceus, a new take on the series. Set in a historic open world with Pokémon roaming freely, as well as a mixture of starter Pokémon from different generations, the game is unlike anything the series has seen before. Pokémon Legends: Arceus will release on January 28th, in what is traditionally one of the quieter times of the year for games releases.

Both Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl are releasing exclusively for Nintendo Switch. For more information, check out their official websites; Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
