Gamescom 2020: Star Wars: Squadrons single-player gameplay revealed

August 28, 2020

At this year’s Gamescom event, EA Games has revealed footage of the single-player campaign for the upcoming Star Wars: Squadrons.

Set shortly after the destruction of the second Death Star, the single-player campaign will see players fly as two pilots on opposite sides of the war between the New Republic and remnants of the Empire. Like the game’s other modes, the campaign will support VR.

The new footage showcases an early Imperial mission which takes place behind enemy lines. We see the Imperial squad eliminate perimeters and escort a transport vessel, all while fending off incoming New Republic fighters. Players will also be able to debrief squad mates between missions, customise and master eight starfighters, and interact with well known Star Wars characters including Wedge Antilles and Hera Syndulla.

Star Wars: Squadrons will be released on 2nd October this year on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
