Good news everyone! We’re all still alive, and the world is intact. Looks like those ancient Mayans weren’t so smart after all. Now that the apocalypse has been averted, we can settle down to something a little more mundane. Such as today’s gaming news, for example.

  • NEWS: Team Ninja have released some new details about their upcoming PlayStation Vita version of Dead or Alive 5. There’s new touch combat features, training missions, and more.
  • VIDEO: Dynasty Warriors 8 is looking good, and Konami have released a brand new trailer to show it off during the Jump Festa in Japan. Check it out below:

  • ART: Here’s one for the Dark Souls fans. Namco Bandai have released 12 new pieces of concept art for Dark Souls II today, and they’re quite eye-catching.
  • NEWS: Meanwhile, Namco also have a new Naruto game on the way for English speaking fans. Naruto: Powerful Shippuden is coming to the Nintendo 3DS in March next year, and is the first game to be based on the series’ anime spin-off, known as Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals.
  • VIDEO: Following on from Wednesday’s leak of the first trailer for Square-Enix’s upcoming Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, they’ve gone ahead and officially released it. It’s an extended version of what we saw earlier this week, featuring an extra 30 seconds of video. Feast your eyes below:

  • NEWS: Lastly for today, reports have come in that Zynga’s Japanese branch has just closed down, and the UK branch is looking likely to follow. Profits have been greatly reduced this year, and many employees have unfortunately found themselves on the chopping block.
