Ubisoft Delays Far Cry 6 And Rainbow Six Quarantine

October 30, 2020

2020 really has been the year of delays. Less than a week after CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would be delayed into December. Ubisoft has now announced delays for both Far Cry 6 and Rianbow Six QurantineThe delays are a little bit bigger than Cyberpunk’s though, with Ubisoft stating they will release some time after March 2021 in an earnings report.

For Rainbow Six Quarantine there is little surprise in the delay. There has been hardly any news since the game was initially revealed at E3 2019. Well obviously be waiting a least a while longer for the co-op PVE shooter. Far Cry 6 is a little more of a surprise, with the game only recently being announced at Ubisoft Forward and seemingly being somewhat closer to release. No specific reasons were given by Ubisoft for the delays, but at this point it’s reasonable to assume that COVID disruptions have had an impact on just about every delay that occurs. Although other factors can always impact development as well.

With these delays we don’t know exactly when Rainbow Six Quarantine and Far Cry 6 will release, but it will be sometime between April 2021 and March 2022. When they do release, it will be for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
