Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed To November

June 19, 2020

Cyberpunk 2077 Launch Trailer

That’s right, after originally being slated for a 2019 release date and already being delayed twice this year, Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed once again. While no doubt disappointing for the mass of fans eagerly awaiting the release of the game, there’s no doubt that CD Projekt Red have earned themselves a reputation for releasing fantastic, if oft delayed games. Who knows, given the releases proximity to the potential next gen consoles launches, maybe we could see it become a launch game for those consoles?

The delay was announced via a statement posted on the Cyberpunk Twitter account, which states that the game is finished from a content perspective and the additional time will be spent polishing the game and eliminating bugs. There’s no doubt that CD Projekt Red wants to make sure the game is as good as possible before release. Paraphrasing an old Miyamoto quote, a delayed game is eventually a good game, but a bad game is bad forever. An adage that CD Projekt Red seem to have very much taken to heart with their development and release philosophy of ‘It’s done when it’s done’.

Cyberpunk 2077 will now release in November 19 after being delayed for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check out Adam’s Gamescom 2018 preview of the game while you wait.
