Sony & Insomniac games have unveiled their contender for “best video game based on a movie based on a video game” going up against such classics as Street Fighter The Movie: The Game & Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run.

Launching in Autumn 2016 to coincide with the release of the movie of the same title, Ratchet & Clank sees the series rebooted for a new generation of consoles and gamers. The trailer  shows off a number of different areas and new weapons to be featured in the game (and of course, one of those weapons, the ‘bouncer’ has been confirmed to be a pre-order bonus) alongside some familiar faces from the franchise . However, what probably stands out to most viewers are the impressive in-game visuals that rival those of the CG movie it is based on – a benchmark many gamers have been hoping to see surpassed for some time now.
