Walking Dead Gets A New FPS Game

July 9, 2012

Fans of The Walking Dead are sure to be pleased by this bit of news. Terminal Reality, developers of Kinect Star Wars and Ghostbusters: The Videogame, have announced that they’re working on a brand new The Walking Dead game, which will be a first-person shooter. Activision are taking on publisher duties for what is currently called The Walking Dead Video Game. While the game that Telltale Games are developing is based on the comics, Terminal Reality’s is based on the TV show, and follows Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle as they fight for survival. According to Activision’s press release, the game follows the brothers’ “haunting, unforgiving quest to make their way to the supposed safety of Atlanta. No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside in this new, post-apocalyptic world.”

The game has been confirmed as containing both stealth and action sections. Supplies will be rare and valuable, and players will need to carefully manage food and ammunition as they make their way through the game. Daryl and Merle will encounter a series of other characters along the way, that can help or hurt them, and it will be up to the player to make decisions about who accompanies them on their long trek to Atlanta. The game is set for a release during 2013 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Looking forward to seeing what Terminal Reality put together? Let us know in the comments.
