United Front Games closes

The developer behind Sleeping Dogs, Modnation Racers and Smash and Grab, United Front Games, has closed its doors.

Speculation about the fate of the developer began when people noticed that Smash and Grab, which was in Steam’s Early Access program, and which has just had a free weekend, disappeared from the platform.

While no official statement has been released, Kotaku Australia was able to confirm with a source inside the studio that it had indeed been closed, and tweets by staff members later reaffirmed the news. It is not known what impact the closure will have on the Sleeping Dogs franchise, or what the future of Smash and Grab is at this stage.

Rocket Chainsaw would like to extend our condolences to all staff at the studio who have lost their jobs due to the closure, and we hope that everyone is able to find new work soon.
