The Last of Us Part II Delayed To May

October 25, 2019

In an official PlayStation Blog post today, Naughty Dog has revealed that The Last of Us Part II has been delayed to May 29, 2020.

An update from the game’s director Neil Druckmann cuts to the chase and explains that in the last few weeks they realised the game wasn’t polished enough to the standards that Naughty Dog has come to expect from their games. They had to decide between removing parts of the game or delaying the release, and it looks like we’re getting the full package at the expence of a bit of a delay.

Rocket Chainsaw has been closely following The Last of Us Part II’s development since its original announcement in December 2016. We’re hoping that by having The Last of Us Part II delayed by three months will allow Naughty Dog to make this game even better than its predecessor.

Neil asks for patience from fans while they put the finishing touches on what is shaping up to be one of the biggest launches of the end of this gaming generation, solidifying the PlayStation 4’s legacy as the dominant platform, filled with AAA exclusives.

The Last of Us Part II will launch on May 29, 2020 exclusively on PlayStation 4. For more information, head to the official The Last of Us Part II website.
