State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition Announced

February 16, 2020

When I originally played and reviewed State of Decay 2, I found a game that was filled with engrossing systems and moment to moment gameplay, but was riddled with bugs, jank and some grainy graphics. It was the type of game that was enjoyable despite its flaws, but you could see that it was being held back from its full potential.

Developer Undead Lab have a history of supporting their games for a long time, with the original State of Decay receiving years of updates that continued to improve upon its initial base. They’ve continued that with State of Decay 2, and now they’re going all-in on updating and upgrading State of Decay 2, announcing State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition.ac

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition contains a brand new Open World map, a new heavy melee weapon class that ‘rewards player skill and timing’, a new post-tutorial experience to better continue onboarding you into the game’s myriad systems, a massive range of graphical improvements, an improved audio experience, a new control scheme and dozens of mission and gameplay bug fixes. The game is also bringing cross-play between Steam and all existing platforms.

On top of the myriad fixes, additions and improvements, State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition also includes all three DLC add-on packs for State of Decay (Independence pack, Daybreak Pack and State of Decay 2: Heartland).

Best of all though, if you already own State of Decay 2, then State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition is a free upgrade to your existing game, and if you’ve already bought the DLC than you’ll receive some exclusive in-game rewards.

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition releases on Xbox One and PC (Windows Store and Steam) on March 13th, and will release day and date on Xbox and PC GamePass as well.
