Following our deep-dive preview of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands yesterday, Blizzard has today revealed that the Shadowlands Scourge Invasion event has begun.
Sylvanas Windrunner has shattered the Lich King’s Helm of Domination and released the Shadowlands Scourge across Azeroth in this pre-expansion event which is now live and will run up until Shadowlands launches on the 24th.
The event is called Death Rising and starts with a call to arms quest “An Urgent Request” for level 50 players. Fight back against the Shadowlands Scourge and reclaim Azeroth by completing related quests and turning in Darkened and Pitch Black Scourgestones looted off the Scourge corpses. This is only the beginning of the two week Shadowlands Scourge Event however, and you can get all the official Pre-Launch Event information in this post from Blizzard.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands was originally set to launch last month but got delayed under the stresses of the COVID-19 pandemic. In that time, we’ve seen players have their levels scaled back to 50 and some preparatory events taking place, with the game looking set to have its biggest shake-up yet.
