World of Warcraft Shadowlands Pre-Patch Launches Today

October 14, 2020

BLIZZARD TODAY has launched the World of Warcraft Shadowlands Pre-Patch giving players access to much of the quality-of-life benefits of the recently delayed expansion.

While we still wait for Blizzard to announce a new release date for Shadowlands (let’s hope it’s this year!) players that log in today will find that their level 120 characters have been reverted back to level 50, a new storyline Exile’s Reach, hundreds of new character customisation options for all races, item and stat level adjustments for the new level cap, and much more!

Rocket Chainsaw has been following the development of the Shadowlands expansion since it was revealed at GamesCom 2020, and over the past fortnight we’ve had the pleasure of playing around with and reviewing the very limited Blue Yeti X World of Warcraft Edition, which you can read more about in our in-depth review.

To help you prepare for the upcoming Shadowlands pre-expansion patch and plan your adventures from now until Shadowlands arrives, we’ve compiled a variety of helpful information.

Adventure awaits in Azeroth in an all-new starting experience arriving with Shadowlands. Available to both veteran players and new, this introductory excursion is a great way to begin forging your path through the world.

An expedition has gone missing, and you have been called to be a part of a new crew of novice adventurers charged with discovering what’s become of them. As with many such journeys, you’ll find yourself as part of a crew aboard a ship bound to their last known location. When things take a turn for the worse, you’ll make landfall on the island of Exile’s Reach.

It’s here that you’ll begin to face the challenges the island presents, each increasing in difficulty as you work your way through your first 10 levels. As you progress, you’ll begin to learn more about using the new skills and abilities at your disposal.

At the culmination of your adventure, you’ll face two new bosses in a “mini-dungeon” designed for 1 to 5 players.

The World of Warcraft Shadowlands expansion is still scheduled to release in 2020. For more information, head to the official Shadowlands Pre-Patch blog post.
