Red Dead Online Arrives In November

September 20, 2018

It’s no secret that GTA Online, the massive online component of Grand Theft Auto V, has been a massive success since it launched. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent in the mode, and so players have been eagerly awaiting news on how Red Dead Redemption 2 would integrate an online mode into the game. While we still don’t have many details, Rockstar Games have now confirmed when we can expect the mode – titled Red Dead Online – to launch and some broad details about the type of content to expect.

Similarly to GTA Online, Red Dead Online won’t be available on Red Dead Redemption 2’s launch day, instead coming in November. This November release will initially be a public beta release, with Rockstar Games gradually gearing up towards a 1.0 release sometime later. They have also confirmed that Red Dead Online will be an evolution of the original online open world mode in Red Dead Redemption, mixing narrative beats with coop and competitive gameplay modes. More details should hopefully come in the near future.

Access to Red Dead Online will be free to anybody that owns Red Dead Redemption 2, which launches on October 26th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
