New Atelier Meruru Trailer

March 24, 2012

Nippon Ichi Software America have just released a new trailer for their upcoming item-crafting JRPG, Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland. The game is the third and final entry in the Arland series of Atelier games, and this new trailer gives us a look at what we can expect from it. It’s not a hugely ambitious sequel, but given the success of the previous games, it really doesn’t need to be. Gameplay appears to be largely unchanged, but as usual, there’s a new main character – Princess Meruru – who will be joined by the protagonists of the previous two games. There will also be at least one character from the previous game, Atelier Totori making an appearance, as we see an older version of Mimi in the trailer. The graphics have improved slightly with each PlayStation 3 Atelier game, and this time around the game is looking quite pretty, with some of the fanciest special attacks seen so far. Atelier Meruru is set for release on the 23rd of May in the U.S, and will see a European and Australian release during the same month.
