Naughty Dog Teams Up With Tash Sultana On The Last Of Us Part II Track

The Last of Us Part II

The Last of Us Part II is out today, and to celebrate the game’s launch Naughty Dog and Sony Interactive Entertainment have teamed up with Sony Music Australia and Tash Sultana to re-record Through the Valley. For those of you who remember the initial announcement for The Last of Us Part II back in 2016, you might recognise this as the track used during that reveal trailer.

This new version of Through the Valley stays true to the original arrangement of the song, while bringing in Tash Sultana’s signature vocal style and haunting guitar to turn it into a track that is both recognisable and new at the same time. Tash Sultana had the following to say about the opportunity to collaborate with Naughty Dog on the track:

“This is the first time I’ve done a collab like this. Usually it’s kinda just like writing sessions with other musos but this is for a game and it’s different as it’s not my usual style to venture into so I’m completely honoured to be asked to do something like this. I can’t wait to see it in the game world.”

You can watch and listen to Tash Sultana’s rendition of Through the Valley below, while our review of The Last of Us Part II can be found here. The Last of Us Part II releases exclusively for PlayStation 4 today. More details can be found at the game’s official site.
