Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Gets Switch & PS4 Launch Date

February 8, 2018

Natsume Inc. has today revealed that the latest game in the long-running Harvest Moon series will be launching on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 platforms in May 2018. Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, which launched in November last year on Windows PC via Steam to mostly positive reviews, has returned the series to its roots in what’s almost required to be a solid farm simulator, as it goes up against the award winning Stardew Valley.

The game launched in celebration of Harvest Moon’s 20th Anniversary , which encompasses twenty years of the spirit that have made the franchise what it is today. It begins in a seaside town which has been brought to its knees by a storm, and it’s up to you to help its residents rebuild, while growing your own successful farm.

Following the successful release of Harvest Moon: Light of Hope on Steam in late 2017, the Special Edition has some brand new features only available on the console versions.

“Harvest Moon fans have been eager to experience the series on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, so we are happy to be able to give them a date to put on their calendar! The Special Edition has new features made specifically for console gamers that we will be unveiling throughout the coming months,” said Hiro Maekawa, President  & CEO of Natsume. “We also look forward to sharing some special bonuses to go along with the game. Fans should definitely stay tuned as we lead up to the launch this spring!”

“We are honoured to continue to work in close partnership with Natsume in order to bring Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition to our Harvest Moon fans and to newcomers, across Europe, Australia and the Middle East,” said Martin Defries, Managing Director of Rising Star Games. “The series has delighted game fans for many years; the versions that release this Spring will bring happiness to console gamers across the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch universe”.

The console edition, currently scheduled to launch this May, will be called a Special Edition which will include new features that aren’t currently available in the Windows PC version. What these new features are remains to be seen, as well as whether PC gamers will be able to get access to them as well.

There is currently no news as to whether Harvest Moon: Light of Hope will be making its way to the Xbox One.
