The rumoured remaster of the 2D Final Fantasy entries was finally confirmed at Square-Enix’s E3 presentation, with Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster formally announced for Steam and Mobile devices, with a teaser. The remaster will encompass Final Fantasy 1-6.

That’s all we really have to go on at this stage, as the teaser showed only fleeting glimpses of how the games will look in the background. Nevertheless, it’s always nice to hear the Final Fantasy theme. There is no stated release date beyond ‘Coming Soon’. RPGsite has tried to dig what information they can get out of the screens presented, including comparisons of the ‘new’ sprites.
