E3 2017: Beyond Good and Evil 2 Finally Revealed

June 13, 2017

After years of waiting without anything but the barest hints of news and teases, Michael Ancel has taken to the stage during Ubisoft’s E3 2017 press conference to emotionally announce that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is finally happening.

Visibly crying after entering the stage, Michael Ancel began by thanking Yves Guillemot for making Beyond Good and Evil 2 a reality for him. Despite the 2 in the name, the game will actually be a prequel to the original Beyond Good and Evil and will take place prior to Jade’s birth. The game was only announced via a cinematic trailer, with graphics of a high enough fidelity that earlier rumours of the game being a Switch exclusive now seem far fetched. While there is no confirmation on exactly what form Beyond Good and Evil 2 will take, Ancel talked about the game including online to play with your friends, as well as the ability to play solo, while star faring across the galaxy and exploring mysterious cities.

No platforms or release window were confirmed for Beyond Good and Evil 2 during the reveal, but you can sign up to the Space Monkey Program for further news and a chance to help shape the game.
