It’s Saturday, and the good news is that there’s no shortage of quality games to play over this long weekend. Whether you’re blasting your way through Columbia in Bioshock Infinite, travelling through time in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, hunting monsters in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, sucking up ghosts in Luigi’s Mansion 2, or exploring the world of Lego City Undercover, you’re sure to have a great time.

  • NEWS: Killer is Dead is still in development, but Grasshopper Manufacture are already gearing up for their next release. Speaking with Famitsu, Goichi Suda showed off the first artwork for the game, and talked a little about the planning process. The currently untitled game will feature a female protagonist, but that’s about all we know for now.
  • NEWS: Hideo Kojima has spoken out about the absence of David Hayter (the voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss) from Metal Gear Solid 5. Confirming the change in casting, he said that “It’s a new type of Metal Gear game, and we wanted to have this reflected in the voice actor as well”.
  • VIDEO: Epic Games have shown off a new demo of their Unreal Engine 4 during this year’s GDC, and it’s a pretty impressive sight. The ‘Infiltrator’ demo is 100% in-engine, and runs in realtime.

  • NEWS: Speaking of Unreal Engine 4, Epic’s co-founder Mark Rein has unfortunately stated that Epic have no plans to bring it to Nintendo’s Wii U. When asked about the company’s intentions, he said “We have Unreal Engine 3 for the Wii U. Right? And Unreal Engine 3 is powering all kinds of amazing games, still lots of games are being made with Unreal Engine 3. . .Our goal for Unreal Engine 4 console-wise is next-gen consoles”.
  • NEWS: Free DLC has been released for both Halo 4 and Gears of War: Judgement on Xbox Live. Halo 4 players will gain access to Forge Island, which spans three modifiable areas and features islands called “Great Anvils.” Meanwhile, Gears of War: Judgment gamers can now pick up the Execution multiplayer mode, and a new multiplayer map called Haven.
  • NEWS: Say goodbye to THQ games on the Sony’s PlayStation Store. Many games published by the now bankrupt company have disappeared from the store in PAL regions (including Australia), although they’re still available on the North American store at this point. Red Faction: Guerilla, De Blob 2, and more are gone.
  • VIDEO: Bungie have been releasing various new media for their upcoming Destiny project, and at this year’s GDC, they released a video which gives us a look at their character design process.
