  • Quantic Dream founder David Cage says Beyond: Two Souls will have no Game Over screen. Cage believes that, while the GO screen has a place in action games, “in a story-driven experience it doesn’t make any sense.” Instead, players will have to live with the consequences of their failure – even after death, stating “one of the big mysteries in the game is to discover what’s on the other side. And it’s definitely not a black screen.” We’ll have to wait until the games release October 6 to find out more.
  • More Microsoft bosses fall today as the company announced that CEO Steve Ballmer plans to retire sometime in the next year. His retirement is said to be part of a wider restructuring looking to turn Microsoft into a “devices and services” company.
  • Microsoft have announced that Day One editions of Forza Motorsport 5, Dead Rising 3, and Ryse: Son of Rome will all come with exclusive content while supplies last or with digital copies purchased in the first two weeks of launch. Check out the details here.

  • Audio assets of Grand Theft Auto V appeared online after hackers were able to pull spoiler scenes as well as an almost complete soundtrack from the PS3s digital pre-load of the game. Sony has apologised to Rockstar for their fluff up, while Rockstar expressed their disappointment on their official newswire.
  • Still no official release date, but according to a Kotaku source, XBOX ONE may well be released November 8.
