For Honor Requires An Internet Connection

December 14, 2016

An Ubisoft representative has confirmed via a private message on their official forums that For Honor will be an always online experience. This comes despite earlier reports that the campaign would be playable offline and that only the multiplayer would require be connected online.

According to the post, which was made by UbiJurassic, states that the reason for this is due to certain progression elements shared between both the campaign and multiplayer being hosted online and seemingly not on your home console. What this really means is that if you’re in an area with spotty or unreliable internet, you could potentially run into errors if your connection drops out as you play through the campaign.

Ubisoft previously took this stance with Assassin’s Creed 2, with the game originally requiring being connected to the internet at all times to play, before updating the game to allow for offline play after receiving feedback from fans.

For Honor releases on February 14th, 2017 for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
