Making good on their promise, 343 Industries has began sending out codes for Halo 3: ODST to everyone that purchased and played Halo: The Master Chief Collection online on Xbox One before December 19 2014. The game weighs in at 8.1 GB and can be downloaded from Xbox LIVE right now (editor’s note: I received my free code approximately 1 hour ago).

Like the other titles in The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One, Halo 3: ODST has been remastered to run at 1080p and at 60 frames per second. The game does not include the Firefight game mode and contains the Campaign only. Halo 3: ODST was offered free of charge to thank players for their patience during the troublesome launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection last year.
