E3 2018: Halo Infinite announced by Xbox

June 11, 2018

The long-awaited next instalment in the Halo series was announced today by Xbox at their E3 Press Conference, titled Halo Infinite. The game is powered by the Slipspace engine, although we don’t know too much more about it at this point, as only a short teaser was shown at the head of the conference.

The trailer features an alien world filled with strange and unfamiliar ring-like ruins and familiar animals. A group of soldiers arrive at a beach and light up a marker flare, only to be seen at a vantage point by a helmet-less Master Chief, who quickly suits up. Driving a Warthog vehicle across the landscape, the camera pans up to view a giant mountain, that is slowly revealed to only be in front of the ring of another giant Halo structure.

Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, said “With Halo Infinite we will join Master Chief on his greatest adventure yet to save humanity.”
