  • NEWS: Criterion should expect new things in the studio’s future. According to developer Alex Ward’s twitter, the studio has no plans to continue their Burnout series in the near future, not continue development on the Need for Speed franchise. Instead, Criterion will pursue other, potentially non-racing projects.
  • NEWS: Nintendo has today announced 3DS specific Nintendo Directs, streaming directly to your computers in no more than a couple of days. Both Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of America have their separate Directs scheduled. No word on any new announcements, but we can be sure to at least see more on upcoming 3DS games.
  • VIDEO: Classic Disney platformer Castle of Illusion is getting a remake. Announced via press release, the reimagining of the SEGA classic is being headed by our very own SEGA Studios Australia, and will be released later this year on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

  • NEWS: What is Climax Studios working on? AllGamesBeta has images taken from the developer’s official website, some showcasing an untitled horror game, others a character action platformer.
  • NEWS: The Skyrim adventure is over. A recent post on Bethesda’s official blog has the studio confirming that major work on Skyrim projects, such as downloadable content, has come to an end. From this point on, Bethesda will be putting resources towards their next big game.

  • NEWS: 2K’s troubled XCOM shooter gets a little more troublesome, as Digital Trends reports the publisher has ripped official media down from all across the internet. Websites, trailers: you name it. Does this mean XCOM is truly dead? Or will it receive yet another do-over?
  • NEWS: Another worst kept secret, more evidence mounts that the semi-reboot of Mortal Kombat is coming to PC. The latest info comes from DSOGaming, who’ve spotted on Steam’s data tracking evidence of people playing…Mortal Kombat. Testers gonna test.
  • VIDEO: Everybody loves free content. We’re sure that “everybody” includes Forza fans. Forza Horizon players can look forward to a free upgrade called 1000 Club in the near future. Here’s a trailer.

  • NEWS: The PC port of Dark Souls was kinda crappy, a fact From Software now admit. In an interview with Shacknews, Dark Souls II director Yui Tanimura has stated that the original’s port was “sorta half-assed”, promising much better work on the sequel’s PC release. According to earlier reports, unlike Dark Souls, Dark Souls II is being built on PC first and ported to other platforms later.
