Yakuza 7 revealed

August 29, 2019

Sega has revealed the next installment in the popular Yakuza series. The game, which will be released in Japan as Ryu Ga Gotoku 7 on January 16th 2020. Release dates for the rest of the world have not been announced, but it’s likely the game will launch outside Japan later in 2020.

Yakuza 7 will feature a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, who, like Kiryu Kazama, takes the fall for a crime he didn’t commit. The game also features the new setting of Yokohama, with a new map that’s three times bigger than the Kamurocho map that players have come to know and love over the years.

The game has also dramatically altered combat, moving to a turn-based RPG style. Sega teased this possibility as an April Fool’s joke earlier in the year, however it looks to be really happening in Yakuza 7.

Now enjoy the full trailer for the game.
