After SEGA’s acquisition of Relic when THQ went under, fans had long questioned whether or not SEGA would retain the Warhammer 40k license and fund a new Dawn of War title. That speculation is final over with SEGA granting the wishes of many and announcing Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3.

Coming to PC in 2017, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 will combine the epic scale of Dawn of War with the customisation and elite heroes found in Dawn of War 2. What results, according to SEGA, is a ‘best-in-class edition giving players the rich strategic experience, stunning visuals, and catastrophic surprises that they’ve come to expect as Relic brings the franchise into the modern era.’

With the escalating brutality on show in the CGI teaser trailer, it will be interesting to see just how Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 turns out.
