As we move closer towards the release of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 Relic Entertainment and SEGA are beginning to unveil more of the units available to you in the game, beginning with the Wraithlord.

The Wraithlord, unlike the smaller Wraithblade unit, are massive units that can only be piloted by the dead souls of Eldar heroes that are entombed in spirit stones. The constructs themselves aren’t scarce, however, the souls to pilot them are, as the lesser minds of general Eldar units do not have the strength of will to command these collosal wraithbone constructs.

The Wraithlord is a front line combat unit, using its Glaive Charge ability to charge forward into enemy units before delivering a flurry of blows. It also has the Ethereal Wall ability which allows it to drop a large shield which affected those that pass through it: Enemy soldiers are slowed and allied soldiers receive a speed boost.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 is scheduled to release for PC in 2017, so while you wait, have a play around with the 3D model of the Wraithlord below.
