Well, this is an unusual bit of news. Straight from Sir Paul McCartney’s verified Twitter feed comes word that he’s working with Bungie, to write music for their upcoming projects. This could mean that McCartney’s music will be featured in Bungie’s upcoming Destiny series, news of which was leaked earlier this year. McCartney said:

I’m really excited to be working on writing music with @bungie, the studio that made Halo.

McCartney also posted the above photo of himself and Bungie composer Martin O’Donnell having a meeting. McCartney hinted back in January that he was already working on music for a game, but didn’t go into specifics. The former Beatles member has often been called one of the most successful composers of all-time, and will surely be a great asset for Bungie. McCartney is certainly keeping busy, and we’ll be seeing him in action again soon, as he performs during the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games on the 27th of July.
