Mario Kart Tour coming 25th September

Nintendo has announced via Twitter that Mario Kart Tour, a mobile version of the popular racer, will be available to download from 25th September on Android and iOS platforms.

Mario Kart Tour was originally slated to arrive during the American Summer period, so it has only just missed that release window. According to the game’s Apple App Store page, Mario and friends will race on courses inspired by real-world cities and classic Mario Kart tracks. The courses will rotate every two weeks. There will also be online modes and challenges, the latter of which will “demand a different approach to gameplay”.

The game will be free-to-start, with additional in-game purchases available to which we assume will include additional characters and items. A Nintendo Account will also be required in order to play the game. We have embedded a trailer below.
