Hoyts and Riot Games have announced a brand new partnership today, with Hoyts becoming an official sponsor of the League of Legends Oceanic Pro League and also coming on board as the official Oceania viewing party partner for all major League of Legends esports events during 2016.

After successes with viewing parties for past major tournaments, including the record breaking viewership of 36 million people for last years League of Legends World Championships final, Hoyts is understandably excited to get involved in what is an ever growing market in Australia and New Zealand.

Nine key events will be screened at Hoyts cinemas this year, live in HD via satellite feed. Not all dates have been confirmed so far, but the confirmed events are below, with more to be announced:

• OPL Split 1 Final – April 5, tickets on sale Tuesday 29 March.
• International Wild Card Invitational (IWCI) – Date TBC
• Mid Seasonal Invitational (MSI) – Date TBC
• OPL Grand Final – August 13
• International Wild Card Qualifiers (IWCQ) – Date TBC
• World Championship Finals – Date TBC

These events will be viewable at the following cinemas across Australia and New Zealand: Broadway (NSW), Highpoint (VIC), Carousel (WA), Norwood (SA), Stafford (QLD), Sylvia Park (Auckland) and Riccarton (Christchurch).
